Dreams are so powerful.  When our children dream that's saying a lot more than you might imagine.  Our children are our now and the future.  It is very important to support their efforts, their inspirations, and their vision. Some of our secret joys are found in helping others.  If you truly want change to happen you're looking at it every day.  The answer lies within the young bright minds of our children.  If you want our youth to continue dreaming, then dream with them both by sharing your fervent dreams, and by diving in with heart first to help them discover the amazing things about their own.  I strongly recommend this exhilarating feature of two friends Jo Joe and Wynton penned by my grandson Fred L.   Normal people don’t go around trying to destroy other people.  Furthermore, strong people don’t put others down.  Take a step back and put yourself in the other person’s shoes.  Then ask yourself would you want someone to treat you the way you’re treating others?  The answer is no.  First and foremost you wouldn’t be able to handle it.  Especially, if you have to plot and hide behind despicable shady lies. Then sit back and listen to what others are saying or thinking about another because of your mischief. Other people aren’t dumb and you’re not smart. If you don’t feel some kind of awful “did your mama teach you anything”?  Probably not if you think it’s a sport and you’re winning.   To the strong sistas, you may encounter many vicious attacks, but it may be necessary so you can know who you are, what you can rise above, and who you wouldn’t want to be. დ A touch of love from, Sunshine & Rainbows

This is an article that I wrote for "Southern Dallas Business & Living Magazine", November 2013. Forgiveness This Thanksgiving as we meditate on the many blessings bestowed upon us pause for a minute and dwell on forgiveness.  In forgiveness, we give ourselves the freedom to be peaceful and to receive joy in abundance. As I reflect back on Mega Fest 2013, it was a really beautiful Thursday morning in the metroplex.  The sun was blushing, excitement filled the air and I was thrilled to be attending Oprah’s “Lifeclass”.   I availed myself to be empowered by this wonderful experience.  As I approached, the Victory Avenue/Hi-Line Dr. exit into the American Airline Center the traffic was endless.  I knew I was in for a treat.   Back down Memory Lane: It’s about 9:30 a.m. and Oprah & Bishop T.D. Jakes takes to the stage.  The crowd erupts applauding and cheering a warm welcome to these two great teachers.  The lesson being taught here today was the exact same message I had

If the older me could talk to the younger me.  Girl, you are the boss!  You were knitted together in your mother’s womb.  You are wonderfully and fearfully made. You are fearless give everything you have to what you believe.  Despite what others may do or think always put one foot in front of the other and slay your way to your destiny.  Trust in the Lord and lean not unto your own understanding.  Be respectful and loyal to what is right.  Use your moral compass to keep you from getting lost. It’s easy to stray in the wrong direction, you know.  Especially when wrong feels like right.  It isn’t until you’re paying the consequences later on that you begin to realize. I would tell her to make friends with other young girls and together build each other up.  Play dress up, compliment, and applaud each other.      I would tell her I am who I am today because the advice I am sharing was the advice given to me.  It is because of this advice that I am a happy, peaceful, successful, confident

I absolutely love fashion it’s an art.  I love to see chic and confident.  Although, fashion doesn’t define anyone it does say a lot about your character.  Being chic is like tasting your words before you speak.  It reveals your personality or your inner self before you ever utter a word.  Fashion enhances you and it tells the world you take pleasure in who you are.  Quietly and calmly the chic clothes you wear should reflect your heart, and how you want others to see you.   Remember after all God is a fashion designer.   Thank God we have been blessed to see another day.   Although time seems to fly, it never travels faster than one day at a time. Each day is a new opportunity to live your life to the fullest. The Next Chapter  In this next chapter of life surround yourself with new characters.  Those characters who give you perspective, inspiration, and positive energy.  Those who are happy, supportive, walking the walk, and not just talking.  Most importantly disassociate yourself from negativity, small-mindedness, and share this period of time with those who are living a purpose-driven life. You’ve been through 2020 and it has had many twists and turns. Nonetheless, it has given you a chance to redefine your role.  Your role should be one that takes you to a new level of empowerment.  Allow your passion to permeate every page, paragraph, and sentence of your new chapter. Look around and inhale the beauty of each and every day.  Appreciate the moment and practice thanking God constantly.  Everything the devil plucked from you will be restored and watch the atmosphere change.  See how the previous chapter really wasn’t the end, but the beginning.  Take your cue from God and then applaud bec

Mismatched Friends   As much as people refuse to believe it, the company we keep does have an impact and influence on our choices.  We can be “unequally yoked” with the people we call “friends”.  Mismatched friendships can be bad company that corrupts good character.  The Bible reveals to us that we are not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, that we are to stay away from people who cause divisions and offenses and to withdraw from every brother  who walks disorderly.   This is not to say you are better than the next person it’s saying you have the presence of God in your life.  Your journey is spiritual and having the wrong people in your circle of influence can hinder the plans God has for you in your life.  You may be open to growing and maturing , and they resist growth and their tendencies might hold you back when you start a journey  that’s different than their own.  So, at some point, you might have to ask yourself what fellowship can light have with darkness?     A final th
