Sunshine & Rainbows

The clock is ticking. In approximately four days from now, we will be celebrating a milestone in history. Our first female Madam VP Kamala Harris will be sworn into history. She's black, a Soror, an HBCU graduate, brilliant, exuberant, yet sagacious enough to be the girl next door. I had the pleasure of meeting Maya, Kamala's sister about 2 years ago. Whom I can say was absolutely wonderful. She's a humble, soft-spoken down to earth individual. As most well know she was an MSNBC Political Analysis before becoming campaign chairperson for her sister. I hold dear our conversation and how she beamed as we talked about her big sister Kamala. I recall mentioning how proud I was of Kamala and in a soft voice she said, "we are too." Kamala and I exchanged hellos, hi Sorors a handshake with a big smile on our faces as she was surrounded by security. Set it off right where you are right now.  Hey, you to the left, hey you to the right take stock in your life.  For now, we are in a season.  Live in the moment and make the best of it.  Seasons do change.  Wearing summer clothes in the middle of winter has never made summer arrive any sooner. Therefore deal with where you are joyful.  Find out what God would have you do to occupy your time, talents, and energy this day, this week, and try not to look any further.  The word says to concentrate on today for tomorrow and its troubles would come soon enough. There will never be a time like right now in your life to do all that you have ever longed to do.  To accomplish whatever goals you have set for yourself.  And yes, you should have goals!  Find out what it is and get busy!  Begin where you are.  Be faithful with the little things. Go ahead, get on with the business of living the immediate life with all that is within you.  Be all that you can be now.  The rest will come soon enough.  

Light attracts light. Realize that only those who love the light, or are looking for the light will be enchanted by your light.  In spite of everything, keep strolling towards the light, and understand those that are for you will either join you or vanish like smoke.  Satan sends assignments into our lives and people who don't have our best interest at heart cannot remain in our presence because their darkness sooner or later will expose who they are. There's an idiom that says ... "don't shine so others can see you.  Shine so that through you others can see Him."  Authentically, your light is powerful, you are valuable and you are a prize to the world.  You're a shining star shining bright for all to see and to all the special things you are - - be the kind of soul who makes everybody feel like they are somebody.   დ A touch of love from Sunshine & Rainbows  

The first duty of love is listening!  The fantastic thing about listening is you gather information about yourself and others.  In conversation you don't have to be an active participant:  As far as others are concerned, every one of your glances, head movements, smiles, or facial expressions is part of what is being said. As a theater major, we were trained to listen and to observe.  This is all about character development.  Did you know our ears crave sound bites?  Master listening to sound for relaxation as well as for enlightenment. The more you listen the more you know.  To the point, others will seek your approval.  Vigilance is a powerful magnet.  When focused, your attention acts as the baton of a conductor.  Silently you can orchestrate the flow of ideas, influence the outcome of a conversation- or add to the dialogue.  Whoever listens most usually controls the situation. Listening is healthy for your mind, body, and soul.  Take music for instance. Listening to music has a

This note of inspiration is for real people with real perspective.  As I mentioned, in a previous blog start a diary or a journal as you start to find more of yourself tucked away under some untruth or from being around ideologies that have caused you to limit your vision. Start a self-care regiment.  You are the only you, you will ever have so let's work to take care of the person you see each day in the mirror.  If you don't like the person you see let's do something about him or her.  Are you overweight?  Are you feeling discouraged?  Or whatever the matter do something about it .   The first thing I do on a daily basis when I awaken or prepare for bed I whisper a prayer of thanksgiving.  At night I still say the "Lord's Prayers" before I slumber.  Focus on having a heart of gold.  If you can adapt kindness, compassion, benevolence, you will experience bliss within your own life.   Everything flows from the heart.  Lack of peace, tattles through the eyes

A new year, a new journey and I’m eagerly looking forward to new beginnings.  Last year was one for the records, but God truly blessed me.  I have no complaints it had many sweet spots.  The bitter, the pandemic, the losses are memories to treasure.  Somethings you can’t change.  You have to wait on God or realize that which the enemy meant for bad God can and will use it for your good.   Since I don’t make new year’s resolutions I just take each day as they come.   Allow me to be transparent, I am about goal setting.  I can’t imagine not doing so because it's something I’ve always done.  I’ve always encouraged and motivated myself to be everything I knew I could and can be.   In some of my upcoming blogs, I am going to focus on relaxation and beauty advice for both him and her. I would like to start by encouraging you to start a journal or a diary.  Think about you.  Dwell on the beauty of life or what you desire to jot down.
