  Late one night, I found myself on set shooting an infomercial for Mary Kay Cosmestics, the Deep Ellum of Dallas, TX.  My role?  Pretending to be a multimillion-dollar consultant.  But you know what?  Right there, in that very room, I was surrounded by the real deal, including the incredible Gloria Mayfield Banks.  Her energy is absolutely infectious, and it’s impossible not to be inspired in her presence. One of my favorite most admired persons is Floyd Mayweather, Jr.  You know why?  It's because I learn a lot from watching him and his work ethic.  He is so disciplined.  He knows how to push himself to the next level, and he bets on himself. He made $300 million in 28 minutes as a result of betting on himself.  Betting on yourself is believing in yourself.   Floyd Mayweather dares not compete with anyone because he has his own unique superpower.  He dares not to compare himself with anyone because he knows it's a weakness.  He dares not to become distracted because he is skilled and intelligent enough to keep learning, keep training, and respecting his opponents enough to know that they too are uniquely great if not they wouldn't be in the ring with him. A lesson from Floyd's playbook is this "whether they're with you or not don't stop doing you".  You can't gain or maintain by staying in your comfort zone.   Learn to separate yourself from things

Have you ever driven thru a drive-through and the car ahead of you has already paid for your order? I have paid for other people's orders in the past just because I felt like doing something good for someone I didn’t know. And, to my amazement, I have experienced the same courtesy from others. This past Monday, Memorial Day two days ago I received a surprise gift via email. It was an electronic gift card to Starbucks. Yeah!!! It had been weeks since I’d patronized Starbucks. Upon receipt of my gift card, I decided to take a joy ride (smile). As the old sayin' goes it was money and "it was burning a hole my pocket." It was cloudy and the temp was exhilarating and liberating. So, I decided to jump in my car and off I went over the hills and through the woods to Starbucks. The phenomenal thing about life is whatever is for you is for you, and nobody can take it away.  You can't put the same shoe on every foot.  The same shoes that so many might try, but can't fit - - is because they were designed exclusively for the right foot.
