Wheels in Motion
By: Aurora LaShay
Movement is vitality. Community is a commitment. The road we choose matters.
When I started the Lake Providence Bike Club (LPBC) in 2025, it was about building something real in the community, something that brings people together and keeps us moving forward positively.
Incidentally, it’s something anyone should feel proud to be a part of. It sets a standard.
Because not only is it community and exercise, it can become a lifestyle change.
Without apology, we choose our space and pace.
Without hesitation, we move together.
We put the wheels in motion (mentally and physically).
We pedal with purpose.
Officially registered with the State of Louisiana and launched in 2026, LPBC represents more than organized rides. It represents a standard of excellence, a commitment to becoming and staying fit. It’s a belief that positive change begins with intentional action.
And yes… it’s fun!

DESIGNED WITH PURPOSE
We don’t just ride; we ride together.
There’s a rhythm to it: Awareness. Respect. Flow.
We move as one group, with intention and care. Every ride means something. Every mile builds something.
This vision thrives because of the incredible community lifting it up. A very special thank you to Gloria Hymes and Idell Rice for their unwavering support, dedication, and the essential contributions that help keep our riders safe, refreshed, and moving forward on every single route.

THE ARCHITECTS & FOUNDATION RIDERS
Our inaugural ride was made possible by those who showed up and set the path.
A profound acknowledgment goes to the dedication of Fred L. Threats, Sr. and Landon E. Threats, who meticulously assembled and prepared most of the fleet, ensuring precision, craftsmanship, and safety for the road ahead.
To our core foundation riders: Royal E. Carter, Anthony Jones, Tresca Brown Jones, Ingrid Lockhart, Percy Threats, and myself the first wheels in motion. Together with our architects these visionaries are the heartbeat of this club, and have set the standard for every mile to come.

THE RIGHT ROAD
LPBC is more than a bike club; it gives the community character.
It seems simple until you think about it.
Every time we gather, rolling through neighborhoods or along the levee, we’re sharing time, energy, and space with each other.
We’re building a connection.
We’re building consistency.
We’re building physical strength and stamina.
We’re building another way to elevate our community.
We’re building something that lasts.
We’re creating something timeless.
This is the rhythm of the ride.
This is a community in motion.
This is neighbors riding with neighbors. This is the rhythm of the ride. This is the bayou.
LET’S RIDE!
