“SUPERCILIOUS” has garnered global acclaim. Created, written, and executive produced by Aurora L. Threats of Dallas, Texas, this award-winning short film continues to captivate audiences worldwide.

The film tells the beautiful story of Belle, a young girl quietly sidelined by her peers due to her socioeconomic status. While Belle may not have fully understood the challenges she faced, she held her head high. She continued to dream, strive, and achieve, never doubting the value of hard work. Refusing to let negativity define her, Belle rose above it all—ultimately becoming a beacon of hope and inspiration for others.

“SUPERCILIOUS” has earned international recognition, winning Best Animation in Paris, France. The film has also been named an Official Selection in Ghana, Africa, and Toronto, Canada. Its empowering message resonates universally:
Let your hope not your disappointments shape your future.

The creator of this heartwarming animated short, Aurora L. Threats, is a multi-talented actress, author, poet, inspirational columnist, and producer. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech & Theatre from Grambling State University in Grambling, Louisiana, and received further training at Marla Gibbs’ Crossroads Arts Academy in Los Angeles, California.

During the pandemic, Aurora took a bold leap into film production. Inspired by her original poem “Supercilious,” she brought the story to life as an animated film with its own powerful voice. In just a few short minutes, the film delivers a meaningful message. Belle, the central character, radiates emotional intelligence, resilience, and an unstoppable sense of purpose.

Aurora credits the success of Supercilious to the exceptional team behind the scenes. She offers heartfelt thanks to composer Tony Clark of Austin, Texas, whose captivating musical score adds a layer of magic to the film making it not only entertaining but deeply moving. Through the collaborative efforts of Fulton Film Company (Fresno, CA) and Fulton Film Company Ghana Limited, Aurora’s vision became a globally celebrated, award-winning animated short.
