Know Your Super Power

Aurora L. Threats creator, writer, and executive producer of “Supercilious” an award-winning animated short film.

“Supercilious” is the visualization of one of my poems that like a flower blossomed into an endearing screenplay. With a young Belle at the heart of the film, it has been receiving love around the globe.

The high note in “Supercilious” is to know your superpower. When the going gets tough, don't give up ... hold on to optimism and a deep belief in yourself. Be assured that a mother's love will never betray her child’s confidence, a dog will always leave paw prints in your heart and God will never fail you.

This inspiring story is for the entire family. The base note is to remain fearless. Like it's nobody's business keep moving forward. Surely, at times Belle felt like no matter what she didn’t fit in because of the put-downs and the put-ons of her friends with their overly-exaggerated lifestyle.

This charismatic 9-minute screenplay has gained global notoriety on the film festival circuit. It takes the viewers on a heartwarming expedition that leaves them reflecting. Like a two-sided mirror, it reflects the fact that words and actions really do matter. On the other side remind yourself the person you see looking back at you has nothing to do with how others see you.

Together with a magnificent team, Fulton Film Company (George Ohan, producer) & Fulton Film Company Ghana Limited (Eben Yelson, creative producer) "Supercilious" became and is still becoming the film children will embrace for many years to come.

“Supercilious” has won “Best Animation” at the first selection of the ARG International Film Festival in Paris, France. The critically acclaimed feature has also been named the “Official Selection” of Canada’s International Black & Diversity Film Festival in Toronto, CA, the “Official Selection” of the African Film Festival, and "Semi-Finalist" in the AfroAnimation Short Film Award 2022.

Belle, Belle, Belle is a winner! As Belle smiled and waved to the cheers and applause she realizes she was a crowd pleaser and she needed not to hold her head down, but work hard to achieve her highest dreams.

The aphorism “keep in mind that a girl isn’t what she wears, but what she knows” was clearer than ever before.

Because I was born a queen

I don’t need to be heard, but seen

As mama said, knowing full well

You can be dressed to kill

Have one's fill

But your worth isn’t in the price of material things

It's in your wings

It’s in what you can rise above

Grounded without any restrictions

Reigning, but reminded of who you are and will

Always be.

                     “Belle”

A touch of love from,

Sunshine & Rainbows
